Until last month he was England’s most capped outfield player.

But while David Beckham’s lofty record has been surpassed by former team-mate Wayne Rooney, the significance of his impressive 115 cap collection hasn’t been lost on his children.

Posting on Instagram, the retired footballer, 41, shared a snap of five-year old daughter Harper and youngest son Cruz, 11, trying on the tasseled items traditionally awarded to footballers following every international appearance.
