Okay...this should be fun. Mahaffey announcements are usually a big deal...

My first inclination was a major signing.... But I'm skeptical of that as there haven't been any rumors. Same with a coaching change. There's just no evidence of that.

I'd like to go with a stadium anouncement. Maybe they found a way around a second ballot initiative. (Fingers crossed)

Last three presser announcements I can remember:

MLS2StPete (Birchwood)

Florida Cup (Mahaffey)

Joe Cole signing (Mahaffey)

The timing of this one makes me think it’s pretty big news.

Either the Rowdies have new investors or their dropping to USL League One (nooo!)

Lol..m I don't think you have to worry about a "Major" announcement for dropping down.... On the other hand, your second theory!!!!

Cole retiring?

My speculation was Cole retiring, stadium news, new owner. I do think we would have heard about Cole retiring earlier though, because they would have used that in a bigger way to sell tickets.

If you look at his quote when I asked where they were in the stadium process last month, seems to indicate there would be an announcement or announcements before anything new about the stadium. At least that’s one way to read it.

New billionaire investors please please please.....

I'd like to see Bill Edwards stay on as a minority investor; he's been excellent on the business side of the Rowdies, much better than the previous owners, but hopefully some of the new investors have some football background. Running a successful businesses isn't quite comparable to putting together a title winning team in any sport, and soccer in the USA is a unique beast all its own.
