Rowdies push for the playoffs

ST. PETERSBURG --

The fight for the final playoff spot is intense- with five teams within three points of each other for the right to claim it.  And the Rowdies players wouldn’t have it any other way.

“This is what we all kind of try to play for," Rowdies midfielder Eric Avila said.  "These last couple of games mean a lot.  It’s just coming in there- the crowd’s going to be there.  The excitement of the players- a little bit nervous.  But this is what we play for.”

The Rowdies trail Minnesota FC by one point for the fourth playoff spot, but Tampa Bay has one more game remaining on its schedule than Minnesota FC does.

Tampa Bay plays Friday night at Miami FC and then will return how to play Indy Eleven and Ottawa Fury FC before ending the regular season at Jacksonville on Halloween weekend.
