David Beckham group trying to revive Miami Stadium deal

A report by Douglas Hanks of the Miami Herald on Thursday says that the MLS Soccer team ownership group led by David Beckham will try to revive the push to build a stadium in Miami.

Now, I’m putting this here because there had been previous connections to the University of Miami in the stadium push. Early on in the process, the University of Miami and the Beckham MLS group had conversations about potentially building a mixed use stadium. This stadium would host both the Miami MLS team and Miami Hurricanes Football. Those plans, however, fell apart quickly as the sides could not agree on a location or how many seats the stadium should have.

With the MLS group reviving talks to build a stadium in Miami, there is a chance that they could reach out to the University of Miami again in an effort to secure a partnership. I’m not saying it’s a big or likely or probable chance, but there’s a chance, infinitesimally small though it may be.

So, yeah. Take that as you will. I’m sure you’ll have plenty to say about this so hop in the comments. I won’t stop you.
