Fort Lauderdale Strikers handed Qatari lifeline

Note that the Qatar owned PSG was in talks with Miami Beckham United early this year, and turned MBU down. Looks like PSG is still interested in pro soccer in south Florida, as they are interested in buying the Strikers; PSG are just not interested in Beckham's MLS plans in Miami. Come to Tampa Bay, David Beckham! Tampa Bay Rowdies have just the kind of waterfront, urban, downtown stadium Florida location that you are looking for in Miami and cannot find. Fort Lauderdale Strikers handed Qatari lifeline

On the day that the Fort Lauderdale Strikers signed two players for $1 each, it emerged that Qatari billionaires could buy the ailing NASL club.

A difficult week for both the Strikers and the league has ended on something of an uplifting note when PSG Academy Florida, who are ultimately funded by the Qatar Investment Fund which owns parent club Paris St-Germain, expressed an interest in purchasing the team.
