Paul Dalglish has it right: Rumours are rumours.

However, speculation about where Ottawa Fury FC will play soccer in 2017 continues to swirl, and that speculation gained momentum this week with a report by the well-respected U.S. publication Sports Illustrated that Fury FC would leave second-tier North American Soccer League and join third-tier United Soccer League.

The SI.com report added that the Tampa Bay Rowdies "likely will follow" Fury FC to the USL and said the Fort Lauderdale Strikers and Rayo OKC were in "financial distress." North Carolina TV station WRAL reported Wednesday that Strikers ownership had ceased funding the club, and SI.com said the Oklahoma City club's local ownership group had fractured and the Spanish club Rayo Vallecano, which financially supported the NASL side, had been relegated from top-tier La Liga.
