So, I actually missed this one because I was out of a town for a wedding, but it was a good number - 6,472. Looks like a positive percentage might be out of reach though, as we'd have to stack 7,900 in Al Lang for the finale. 7,786 is the highest number I can recall us having there. Is it possible? Maybe. But likely we'll fall just a bit short...

County approves St. Petersburg’s request to amend TIF agreement

CLEARWATER – The city of St. Petersburg is determined to redevelop land around Tropicana Field whether the Tampa Bay Rays stay or go.

To that end, St. Petersburg Mayor Rick Kriseman asks Pinellas County commissioners Sept. 13 to approve amendments to the city’s Intown Redevelopment Plan and the interlocal agreement between the county and the city.

The Commission said yes, 5-1, with Commissioner Dave Eggers voting no due to concerns about how some of the money would be spent. Commissioner Karen Seel was absent.

EASTERN CONFERENCE RACE TIGHTENS AHEAD OF CRUCIAL MIDWEEK ACTION

The Eastern Conference race continued to tighten over the past weekend as Bethlehem Steel FC, North Carolina FC and the Tampa Bay Rowdies all boosted their chances with victories ahead of a big midweek slate featuring six games from the East on Wednesday night. In the West, things are almost looking decided, but San Antonio FC certainly won’t give up the fight easily as it looks for one of the three sides it’s chasing to falter.

Wednesday, Sept. 26 – Indy Eleven vs. Tampa Bay Rowdies

The Rowdies have won three games in a row to move into 10th place in the Eastern Conference, while the Eleven dropped to sixth place after their loss to Pittsburgh Riverhounds SC on Saturday night to add a little more pressure to their playoff push. That should make for a playoff-type atmosphere and matchup at Lucas Oil Stadium, where Indy will be looking to keep its distance from the chasing pack and Tampa Bay will be hoping to complete a season-sweep of its old rival while maintaining its late-season playoff drive.
