State highway commission renews city option for possible MLS stadium site

The Missouri Highways and Transportation Commission has renewed a St. Louis economic development agency's option to purchase excess right-of-way for the potential construction of a Major League Soccer stadium near Market and 22nd streets.

The right-of-way is expected to become available as St. Louis and the Missouri Department of Transportation redo Highway 40 (Interstate 64) interchange in anticipation of the $1.7 billion National Geospatial Intelligence campus to the north.

It could be the home of a $250 million, 20,000-seat MLS stadium if the ownership group made up of World Wide Technology CEO Jim Kavanaugh and the Taylor family of Enterprise Holdings that has recently emerged is awarded a franchise from the league.

MLS Expansion: A season of success

As MLS continues to grow, expansion sides are continuing to come into the league and raise the bar with their play on and off the field.

On October 21, the expansion side Los Angeles FC tied the Vancouver Whitecaps 2-2 in Banc of California Stadium.

Although the result itself will hardly take home any headlines, the draw gave LAFC 57 points for the 2018 season, which now holds the record for most ever points by a club in its inaugural season.

Tropics sign veteran FW Max Touloute & rookie Luvio Touloute for upcoming MASL season

Max last played pro outdoors with the 2015 Pittsburgh Riverhounds (my continuing research tells me he's also spent time with the NPSL's FC Wichita). He's played professional indoors since 2011, with Wichita, Kansas City & San Diego for the past 2 seasons. Could be a big-time scoring threat, he had 16 goals in 19 games in 16-17 before an injury-plagued season last campaign.
