Joe Cole nominated for NASL Most Valuable Player award

Joe Cole has been nominated for the Golden Ball award, handed to the best player in the North American Soccer League.

The former England, Chelsea and West Ham player joined the Florida club in May and he has made an immediate mark by being selected to the 10-player shortlist.

Cole, 34, has scored nine goals and registered seven assists so far this season and he was named Player of the Week once.

Among his highlights was a stunning bicycle kick against Puerto Rico FC in July.

Cole also scored this stunning strike in a 3-2 defeat by Indy Eleven on Wednesday evening.
